What does the Project leader do?

Rating: +0

Positive Negative

The project leader is responsible for planning the work and following it up. He/she is also responsible for the resources. In most cases the leader comes from the area where the system shall be used (for example a chemist from the lab for a LIMS or other lab system), but IT persons may also be used. In my opinion the best project leader is the one who understands what the new tool shall be used for. This will be a lab person for a LIMS and a production person for a production system. There are very few IT technical aspects in a project for a new system. It is important that IT is consulted on those aspects, which are e.g. network, operating system, and database. These must of course be in accordance with the company’s policy and within the support framework of the IT.
